I'm wearing the same shoes for 8 years. well not the same pair of course, but the exact same model. I always thought those shoes are the best there is, at least that's how it was 8 years ago. This week i went to the same store to buy new ones but somehow they got me convienced into trying different shoes, same style but different model, and guess what- they were much more comfortable and even looked better.

That was very surprising for me, and i've decided to take that lesson to my business, and serached what i can try to do a bit different in the places where i always thought i'm doing the best. anyway i took some of my adsense sites, the ones that were making relatively low ctr, and tried to change my regular ad placement which i always thought was the best for me. The next morning i woke up, checked my adsense earning as usuall and guess what- my ctr on those sites where i changed the ad placement was 3 times my regular ctr. and it was like that the next day too, in fact- i've earned the price of the shoes with this extra...

So that's how my new shoes trippled my ctr, and i've learned my lesson to constantly check my old assumptions to see how they can do better.

Thought i might share this with you guys...

McCullum, the point of OPs thread wasn't to hand out his ad placement, he was suggesting that you TEST your placement and see how it can be improved. Sometimes in order to make more money you'll just have to get down and dirty and try setting those ad placements yourself!

What kind of shoes? Lets see do they still make Air Jordans? Maybe you were wearing the 04 model until now and finally got the 12 model. Either way, nice analogy and got a little chuckle out of it with my coffee this morning.

Yeah, that inspired me too, i've making about 5 split tests right now for different ads placement, styles etc. If i'll have another majoe shift i promise to update

That's right mate! There is nothing wrong with my previous setup, and it made me good earnings for a while, just saying my lesson was to test it every now and than and sometimes get down and dirty and try changing the settings to push the limit, exactly like imprint says!
