How many ad banners are allowed per page on a website including the search box and ad links?

3 Ads unites and 2 link units and 1 search box

even if you post more ad units it will show only in 3

So it's not just about the volume; it's also about good positioning. Don't get carried away 'above the fold'.

3 ad units + 3 Link units are allowed. But I suggest you not to stuff your page with ads. Also please try to put the ads with in the content to improve CTR. Putting ads in the content shows up relevant ads.

For example you can see "compressions socks" advertisement in a web designing related sites whereas the ad is nowhere related to content. So why do a tragetted visitor click a irrelvant ad?
