I was getting anywhere from 30 cents to 2 dollars a click.

For a good month now, my CPC is 7 cents on average. The highest click I've seen is 30 cents like twice.

Literally every click is 6-10 cents. This is brutal. I've waited to think maybe advertisers are bidding low, but it has been so long.

Anybody know what I can do? It's not the keywords, they have CPCs of $1+...

I have 233 blocked advertisers, is that too much?

1. Try to unblock all the advertisers for some time (with more bidders on the auction the price of the ads goes up) even those that are irrelevant to your niche.

2. Try to leave just one ad block on every page.

maybe you lost SE rankings in US and now those are international clicks? Have you checked your traffic countries?

I unblocked about 30 advertisers, got a 50 cent click. Doubt it'll continue cause there's also been a few regular 6 cent clicks...

Sounds like you've been "Smart Priced". Google really hasn't given a clear explanation of what causes this and why, but most hold that it relates to site age/PR/Quality of links/Quality Of Content, and how well your ads back out for the advertisers.

Speculation of course.

google tracks conversions at the backend... if the traffic is not converting at advertisers end they kill the EPC's to protect there advertisers....

that used to happen with me back in 2008 with warez sites.. started off at $0.20-0.30 per click and later crashed to $0.01/click after a couple of months...!

You might have blocked too many people. Try being more selective. Also, consider reducing the number of ad units. Sometimes, reduction of ad units will make bidding on your site more competitive.

It will also help reduce the bounce rate as a site with just one or two ads will have a lower bounce rate than a site with three ad units. A lower bounce rate will mean people will spend more time on your site. I tried this on a site recently and CPC increased substantially. CTR obviously decreased but the earnings were up, compared to what I was making before.

I also think that Google gives preference to sites that have fewer ad units, even if you have it above the fold.

try to keep the visitors longer on your site, update content frequently and add more quality stuff

PS - i've made hundreds of dollars each month with avg cpc of 2 cents, mine was entertainment niche, so instead of cpc try to focus on traffic.

you can't control ur cpc, but u can increase your traffic.

I have a site with nearly 3000 daily visitors, making few dollars because of 0.01 clicks... all clicks... Thats realy annoying...

It's interesting. Sometimes it is hard to udnerstand this. I for example added one extra add block recently to one of my sites. Most people would say that the CPC would decrease after this. But oppositely, it increased!

Man, it's really hard to guess. But my advice is - surround the add block with as much content as you can. I would advice you to put it in the middle of the article, not beginning or end like most people here advice.
