what strategies you use to get ctr of at least over 5% ?

I am acutally between 5-10% and i think there is always more potential i mean you can always try to double or triple your income. so imho it is worth testing.

but please suggest things, that are not against the ToS... i already know bh strategies that can easily get me 20% ctr... but i want legal things for the longterm way... so please no suggestions about using large rectangles directly under the title and over content or adding pictures directly over the ad.

Try to not place too many ads above the fold, otherwise you may get penalized. 5-10% is already a good percentage, not sure how you can get it up there other than to add more compelling content, which will keep visitors on your site for longer.

Don't do anything blackhat man...you will end up getting caught.

Few years back I had a good method going but eventually it got my account banned, as my CTR was way too high.

CTR of 5% is ok. Don't try doing anything like 10% as you will get a manual review and if your site is doing blackhat shit they will find out, for some reason Google is like fucking god

I would be happy if I reach the 2.5% mark

but not above content. Do it so that its alligned left, so the content is on the right hand side of it and below..

already doing that, but with a skyscraper on the left instead of rectangle

I think above 2.5 is dangerous. So be careful.

Using the biggest ad blocks can help in increasing ctr.also instead of putting the ads under the title, put them between paragraphs. This is what works for me.

best strategy is DO NOT LOOK TOO DESPERATE with your ads. People will not reward you if they think your site is crap and obviously just trying to get them click your ad.

On the other hand, if your site is descent with good content, good layout, good enough page speed etc, visitor will click the ad if they actually want to see what the ad is about.

That's my 2cent anyway although I have just started adsense after a very long break. Hopefully it still works
