Exclamation Is my competitor clicking my ads?

So the traffic for one of my sites is steadily increasing each day, yesterday it was about 100 visits and today so far it's up to 175 already.

The clicks for the month, not including today are like 8 total for $6, but today there's 25 clicks for $17. That doesn't seem like a normal jump in clicks so I'm starting to worry if my competitor is clicking my ads.

The CTR for the rest of the month is like .1% while the CTR for today is 7% so it's not outrageous, it's just a hell of a jump.

Can anyone shed light on this? If my competitor is clicking my ads is there anything I can do?

    Thanks!

Based on the estimated CPC it doesn't look like the clicks have been shaved yet, so I would just report it as an issue to Google. Just say you have noticed an above-average CTR and say that you "have heard of clickbombing and hope it's not happening" or something.

I was thinking of doing that, but would it be good to bring it to Google's attention or just wait for them to adjust it automatically?

And what do you mean about being shaved? Does Google count all the clicks and then shave afterwards?

Thats wierd... To be honest you should be happy your CTR goes up, but this... You can't really tell if your competitor clicked on your advertisement Maybe you could PM me your Website, and I could check.

Eh thanks for the offer, but I'm going to have to pass. And I'm sure there's no way to check and make 100% sure.

It is called "smart pricing". They count the clicks, give some money and a few hours later discount all suspicious clicks. It could be some retarded visitor who doesn't know what he is doing. See from which country these clicks are comming. You can wait a few days to see if this continues. If it does, then contact google.

Typically if Google detects click fraud they still count the number of clicks but lowers the cash amount to zero for those clicks through smartpricing.

I will answer this question in short. Yes.

Every time I search for my keyword, I click on my competitors. Costs him $1+ every time.

It could be a competitor clickbombing possibly.
Don't contact google though, they are bad for just closing adsense accounts

hey Meatro " $5 DOMAIN NAMES! PM ME FOR INFO. (.com/.org/.net/.biz/.info/.name) " is this still valid ?

Thanks guys! I installed Statcounter so I'll keep an eye on that, but for the most part all of the clicks have stopped for today.

I won't contact Google. I thought it might be a bad idea to draw their attention to my site anyways.
