I have a few sites that I control (5 total), I try and put 2-3 ads on each, using different positions;
- Top to banners/leaderboards
- Right for skyscrapers and vertical banners
- Bottom/End of Thread for leaderboards

I use text and image, and modify the text palette to merge with the site - make border and background colour the same and text the same as titles or other parts (see the first attachment)

Now if you look at the second attachement, you can see the traffic to my websites in the last week and the CPC with estimated earnings, to me it looks pretty pathetic - even if it is all passive income.

Does anyone have some hints they can drop or pass on to how I can increase this to the hundreds per day?

What niche are these sites in? You may want to consider a special adsense based theme. Also consider getting signed up with a big cpm company like cpmstar. How many uniques a day are you getting? Even at 50,000 uniques you should be looking in the range of $300/day unless you're in the adult niche.

I have a few companies that buy a 5% view rate for a fixed amount each month. However every ad space is atleast 90% adsense.

Maybe his site is non-english ? I guess it is. Or it should be a video site because CTR is damn low lol.

Last month across all sites I had 452,101 unique visitors and just under 9m impressions (not hits).

Not the adult niche - toys and hobbies.

The sites are all English with a 80% NA base.

try some cpm companies - seems your site is heavily under monetized

I think ads on your site look like some sort of a dirty patch means it appears to be some flaw in loading of website to visitors and they think it is not an ad rather some part of site not loaded properly, I suggest make ads background white and text black or default blue color

i bet theres a few people who are, or will be in a simliar situation to yourself.

Have you tried full page ads from places like adbrite? I used to make decent money on high traffic sites using it.

The problem with adbrite is they only pay via cheque and I am based in the UK, sticking to PayPal would be much more preferable.

Adsense is not paying paypal too

Do you have ads in fron of article? Big square ad and text flow around it? It will help a lot, just try for few days.

I'd look into optimizing your page for Adsense or other ads, make sure they're in the best spot. Look for info around the forum about doing this. Also, I think you could bank really hard by having an exit pop-up that leads to a CPA offer related to your niche! Again, search the forum for an exit pop-up solution if you wanna give that route a try.

Even at $1 for 1000 views you'd be making $400/ ~£300 a day.

Look into the CPM distributors. For a well targeted niche you'd be getting double that.

Avoid full paged ads, content locking etc, popups, exit messages etc. as you'll reduce your traffic stream massively.

Tried looking at your heatmaps for where clicks are happening? Might be its one that is making you 90% of your money; it'd be interesting to see why the others aren't.
