The $45 dollar a year website
A little less than a year ago I purchased 100 keyword rich .info and .com domain names. I wasn't going to use these for black hat sites per se but rather use them setup websites for ebooks I was going to sell. Two months after registering the domains nothing was done to them. Rather than do nothing with them I put up a "place holder"... basically a one page site with adsense and text that way the domains would atleast get indexed by the search engines instead of just sitting there collecting dust. One PLR article was used for the site about two adsense ads were slapped on the site. Each website only took about acouple minutes..More time was spent uploading the sites than creating them!
I never got around to building up my ebook sites, so the they just sat there collecting dust. I would see them on in my adsense account making a little money here and there but never really paid attention. Just recently the domain renewals came up and I thought I would just let them expire. However I decided to checked their earnings more carefully before making my final decision. By doing an individual channel search my stats showed each site made about $52-37 or around for the last 10 months~ $45 per year.
Big Fucking Deal You Say!
If numbers bore you don't read anymore...
With domain resgistration costing 1.99 for info's and 9.00 for .coms that leaves you with a profit of $36-$43 per year. That's still peanuts right? Right correct, by almost all standards that sucks, but I built all of those sites in less than one weekend! And I wasn't even trying to make them have lots of content or look search engine friendly. They all only had one page of content...nothing else.
100 sites = Brings in $4,000 one year. Not bad for two days work.
What happens if I built 1,000 sites? They would have grossed $40,000 and probably taken less than 2 months (just working weekends). I know people who work 9-5 everyday, a total of over 2000 hours just to earn this much. It would take someone about 300 hours or less (40 eight hour days) to setup 1,000 sites. I am over stating the time here, it would probably take a lot less once you got going.
Now what would you do with a 325 day vacation? Because that is the amount of time you wouldn't have to work your 9-5 job if you just built sites.
This is the bottom of the barrel, end of the rope situation...with black hat sites you can make so much more per site. I just thought I would share a little insight into what non developed sites can make you if purchased in numbers.

Re: The $45 dollar a year website
lol professional you are right in thinking if you buy 1,000 crappy .com domain is would cost a bundle and you would be better off buying info domains for .89 cents if you know where to look
1,000 x .89 = $890
However if you buy 1,000 really good .com domains, hold onto them for a couple years as the revenue trickles in and then sell the good ones you do stand to make a lot.

Re: The $45 dollar a year website
Hello Dave,
i actually do not belive that it is true, well, 45$ devided to 12 months is 3.75 a month from EACH website, you say without promoting it, i do believe a website without some promote will make 3.75$ Monthly, MAYBE 0.5$,and that is- 6$ a year, if so, if you buy 1000 domains, you will get 6000$ a year, that is also something...
if you did that, and willing to show me the adsense report for this domains, i will be happy to believe and success also, but frankly i can't believe a website without promoting will do even the 0.5$, i believe 0.3$..

Re: The $45 dollar a year website
A friend of mine does exactly this...guess what? Google banned him about 6 months ago because they didn't like his network of sites. He has well over 8K sites.

Re: The $45 dollar a year website
that doesn't sound good, IF So, they are violating their own rules, look at sedo.com and others, i believe they have much more then 100,000 parked domains over there, i would fight if they did it because of "parked domains" issues

That is why you need to diversify and use Yahoo publisher, Adbright, clickstor. Also using premade quality templates helps disguise the site a little. What is your friend doing now that he has 8,000 sites just sitting there?

Re: The $45 dollar a year website
This works guys..I had bought over two hundred domains in Jan...and simply parked them or added adsense articles while I developed one at a time for reselling...and was making a small amount...
Right now I'm all excited because all the domains are about to expire and I'm trying to get rid of them so I dont need to reniew...

Re: The $45 dollar a year website
I think it is a great, very possible way to make a few bucks. One of the things that caught my attention is that your sites are only one page. A one page article that is half way decent is less likely to draw negative attention than a site with 50 sub domains each full of 3000 pages of markov'd content. I mean the site itself isn't even really blackhat. Use your own network for links and a variety of advertisers and google doesn't have any real cause to ban your sites.

It is touch and go, it could work with a bit more effort but in my opinion not really worth it. Good info though
