I already own a few medical niche sites but had a friend do all the link building for me. Recently he got a new job an moved oversea so I started to experiment different services to build my rank and PR on some brand new sites.

This first experiment is a comparaison between using a lot of low PR backlinks VS fewer high PR backlinks.

I found some new hot keywords with low competition, lower CPC but much higher search volumes.

For those I am thinking of implementing a few new twists to increase earnings and future proof my earning.

My budget for those sites will be higher and I am still trying to figure out how to spend my money in the most efficient way.

Here are the things I plan on doing:

- Not register an EMD but rather a domain that as potential to become an auth site.

- Include hard/impossible to rank keywords with high CPC on my site, not to rank them but to use smartlinks to direct my users to those higher paying article/keywords.

Questions:

- I already have about 10 MNS, they all share the same IP, should I get some C class IPS or will it only be a necessity later on ?

- How should I index my links ? I'm using some free ping services ATM, should I get a paid service or just let them index themselves ?

interesting case study will be following along and peeking over your shoulder. It seems like high pr wins the day early on.

The sites are still quite young so we might see some results with the low PR links in about 5 days / 1 week.

Im dripping 25 high PR comments to the first domain to help the rankings but also to see the effectiveness of articles vs comments (haven't purchased any one way links as they are pricy)

I have 2 other sites that are pretty much ready to go (both with similar searches volumes and competition), I might try to rank them later using different techniques. (maybe some bookmarking, high PR edu links, perhaps a manual VS automatic comparaison using the same budget)

Let me know if you have any suggestions for those !

Ok so I just added some new content (+ a new keyword that should be added when the site gets crawled again) on the first site and a new article on the second site, modified some of the on page SEO so the first site might finally get some SERP movement in the next week.

The second site is slowly moving up, I am pretty happy about it especially considering that it didn't cost much so far.

Both sites are now indexed in Bing but not ranked yet.

I also decided to increase the article posted to the second site daily to 10.

Articles seem to get indexed faster indeed, I've also been submitting my links to indexkings and it works pretty well although urls must be shaved before being poster (ex: "hxxp://www.site.com" becomes "site.com".

I am planning of posting on your thread once I achieve some more impressive goals. (everything is just in testing phase right now, I am launching some larger sites in February and will probably end up spending much more credits in the following months)

Ok so my Adsense account just got banned, so I will switch to CPA offers from tomorrow.

Fortunately my other sites are under my friend's account which is fine for now.

Could an experienced user check them and give me some insight on why it could have been banned ? (I will PM you the url of one of my site)

I have been very careful not to violate any of the Adsense TOS so I am kind of puzzled. The only thing that comes in mind is that my account is registered in Europe and I am using it from Japan. I never clicked my own ads or do anything stupid with it, all the content is original and I am using a premium theme.

One thing i learned is that you souldnt monetize before getting your site close to the spot you want. Right now i have one project running and i'm not going to monetize before 100 uv.

I want to know why you got banned too. A lot of people recently are getting banned from adsense. Even the slightest error can get you banned

I think that this is probably the reason, not sure why it would cause an issue in big G's eyes but it's really unfortunate.

I did have one block over the fold and a side bar that was partially visible.

The other articles had ads under the fold, I removed everything for now so lets see if I get my ranking back.

(ads are in red, images in green , all my ads were text ads)

I am not sure if this has anything to do with the ban, but I heard that a recent algorithm update will check the distribution of the content above to fold. If your page doesn't have enough content above the fold you will be affected.

I am seeing that you have very little content above the fold, mainly ads and an image. Hope this helps

Hopefully this drop in ranking is only temporary (my main keyword is already up 5 ranks ATM).

I guess I learned my lesson and will avoid over the fold ads for now, I will also wait to get a certain amount of UV before monetizing my site.

There is absolutely no reason to wait to put ads up on your site.



Shogeki: According to your screenshot, it seems like your ad placement is not in line with Adsense TOS. You are not allowed to place images next to your ad units since viewers may believe the ads and images could be related.

Looks like you've moved onto another monetization method so keep on truckin.

I wanted to try medical affiliate programs for a while now so I might run some tests once I get some descent rankings again on my main site. (I can just get a new adsense account for 25 bucks so I'm not stressed out about my recent ban)

Ill post my results / findings in here for everyone too see.

I am still earning money through adsense on the other sites that my friend and I own so it might be interesting to see if I can monetize them better with some different offers as well.

My site is getting re-indexed and my keywords are already getting some slightly better rankings, I guess it was lucky it didn't get sandbox but then again, this is just an experiment.

I believe this is so true. I have been experimenting with 3 of my websites. It seems that if you are putting ads between title and beginning of the content, you're doomed.

Shogeki, I have subscribed to your thread, and I have one question. After being banned from Adsense (Sorry for your loss) have you had problems looking at your UV and sources from Big G's Anylatics?

And how much are you making through CPA now?

No problem looking at my stats, but since I got penalized and lost my first page rankings I don't really get any visitors on this site.


My sites are adless at the moment, I am selecting some cpa / affiliate offers at the moment and will test them once my site is re-optimized and I get back up in traffic.

Once my site get ranked and I can monetize it I will start link building for 4 more sites I have ready, after that I have some harder niches I would like to get into but I'd rather focus on one site at the moment.

I am trying to post relevant data everyday but with Market Samurai half down it is a little harder to get accurate information.

One thing i learned is that you souldnt monetize before getting your site close to the spot you want. Right now i have one project running and i'm not going to monetize before 100 uv.

Did it got you banned as well to have them to early ?

This might be hard to reach that kind of stats on this site knowing that it only gets 6600 exact/month on its main keyword. The site itself only has about 10 articles (and there is not much more that can be written about the subject).

I have some CPA offers for health insurance and weight lost that I might try for now.

I also made a list of a medical affiliate sites, it is on my laptop I will post it later on.

Here is a suggestion for the new layout of my site(s).

Most of the ads will be images and not text since I am not planning in using Adsense for a while.

To increase page views I am also increasing the number of internal links and might add a few review of affiliate products I will write myself to make sure they don't sound like a sales pitch too much.

Right now I have 5 articles that pretty much target the same keywords, I am adding 5 more that are targeting over keywords with high CPC.

Should I build backlinks to my main domain or just to my top ranked article (or both) ?

hey you said your other website which are running and using your friends adsense are not banned right ? so,can you post screenshot of one of the website ? i want to see ads placement.

Also about you ban ,you have placed link ads next to images which is against G's TOS .

Last question : from where you are getting new adsense ? Also will it last long ? + Did you buy your last adsense account ?
