I have a site which gets about 120 unique visitors per day and my adsense revenue is bouncing every day even though the traffic doesn't. One day I'll make like a dollar, then the next I'll make $3. I had one day that I made $6, then the next was .40 cents! But traffic is staying fairly consistent every day. Is this normal? This is my first site with Adsense on it and I'm kind of happy because I don't do anything with it, so it's nice that it's covering the hosting costs and then some. thanks!

yea its totally normal, its not really a high number of visitors to be doing a lot of judging on, that being said there is a lot of things that come into effect that can cause this:

the CPC price fluctuating from day to day, CTR fluctuating from day to day and the obvious traffic fluctuating from day to day

I've seen days were my CPC will be like 40c then the next day it could be $3, this happens when there is less competition bidding threw adwords for those keywords, your best bet is too build more sites, when doing kw research always go for keywords that people are actually bidding on so you know they will have a better chance of getting a higher CPC, the building more sites would be the main thing for you to concentrate on or even driving more traffic to your already existing site

its really hard to say without knowing your keywords this is a general assumption based on my own experience with adsense....

yeah, the funny thing about this site is that keyword research says there is virtually NO traffic. Adwords estimates are like 300 PHRASE searches (global) per month! Webmaster Tools shows I'm getting 1,500 impressions PER DAY. It's a brand keyword so nobody is really bidding on it. I didn't build the site originally for adsense. I built it as a demo to teach a small group of people how to build a site in Wordpress. Days later, it's getting a little traffic that I didn't expect. So I threw adsense on it. Kinda stumbled on this one!

Well if you've already got some $ coming in, then might as well try to maximize it. Go to your adsense account and block google.com and groupon.com and other low advertisers. This way their ads won't show on your website and people may hopefully click on ads with a higher cpc.

Number one rule! Every KW has the potential to make money no matter how small the traffic. I'm glad to see you use phrase match instead of just exact. I see so many people fall into this stupid thought process pushed by product owners. Phrase match is the best way to find KW's for article writing and providing actual traffic stats.

This really has nothing to do with your thread as such, but I was asked in a PM how to use the KW's in phrase match to write articles which interests people. An easy way to find out what type of information people are looking for when they use those search terms through Google is to go to sites like Yahoo Answers, forums or use Google Alerts, look for a comment thought process between all of them then either write, or have written articles based on that common theme.

Just because someone looks for "house training for a puppy", it doesn't mean everyone using that same KW is looking for the same answer.
