If the articles are pointing back to your Adsense site and will help increase your organic traffic, in turn increasing your CTR then it could be construed as being applicable to this section as well. I really wouldn't put to much weight into article directories anymore though. They still serve their purpose but not like they once did. Now their just one of many spokes as opposed to being their own wheel.
