Would this get me banned - google adsense
Hey guys, here is a quick question as it seems like a grey-area issue!
Say I have a niche website which targets muscle gain and I allow image ads to appear on my site (google adsense image ads).
Say for example, one of the image ads is called "Protein Pro - Gain Muscle Now"
Could I then on my website in an article have a header which reads -
"Best muscle gain products"
then I would say "Protein Pro - Gain Muscle Now" and then I could write why it's so beneficial and what is so great about it. This way when they see the Protein Pro ad on my webpage, they are more then likely going to go ahead and click it.
Now, this is delivering, 100% targeted audience whenever they click the Protein Pro ad as it is something they just read about and trust me that it's going to work.
I'm not giving them an incentive nor am I deceiving them when they click on the ad, it will in fact if anything, make my traffic MORE LIKELY to buy their product.
Any insight would be great,
Thanks
note : I would not be writing a product review about the product, just a mention of it in my article as the "best ones to use" and It would be in the middle of my article.

Re: Would this get me banned - google adsense
You're proving quality content which google LOVE.
Especially when it comes to adsense, I've heard they ban accounts on the account of poorly/nonunique content.
So, go for it imo.

You can definitely write an article targeting an ad on your site as long as your not openly trying to get the user to click on the Ad. A good way to do this is to have your image ad block at the bottom of your content, the name of the product at the top and middle of the content. Not near the bottom near the ad block as Google will look unfavourably on it.
It's usually a good idea of your going to review a product which hopefully triggers the ad on your site, to also review 2-3 others as well which don't trigger any ads, Of course your going to favour your main product more giving it a higher rating. Then have your lowest rated review product at the very bottom.
Just remember though, you can't dictate what ads will show on your webpage. A good rule of thumb is to go over to Google Contextual Tool to get an idea of who is targeting your KW. Companies who are targeting text based ads will usually target an image ad as well.

Re: Would this get me banned - google adsense
I mean, I bet this method I am asking now has already been thought about as it is a fairly simple thing to think about when you notice ads on your website.
You defiantly sure they would not ban me for giving the users an incentive to click the ad, the incentive being it will get rid of their spots but on the other hand that is what my article is about so it would make sense to write about them.
note : I would not be writing a product review about the product, just a mention of it in my article as the "best ones to use" and It would be in the middle of my article.

People do this all the time. I have a blog about video games and I have a lot of posts about world of warcraft gold selling because the CPC is high for that on G ads.
They don't ban you for mentioning a product that could possibly appear in an ad on your site, they will ban you if you have arrows pointing to the ad block after your review that say "Click here to learn more about the product".

Re: Would this get me banned - google adsense
Your not giving people the incentive to click on your ads as long as your somewhat neutral in your article. Think of it this way, if I wrote an article based on the effects of Brute After Shave which had no Adsense ads at the time and then one day they decided to advertise on Adwords and they started popping up on my site, would I be in the wrong? Of course not, I've written an in-depth contextual article on a product freely available to the public for purchase. It's not my fault if their ads pop up and someone clicks through to it.
Advertisers will always target keywords which they feel will result in their ads showing up, even on their own brand names. There's no difference between their ad showing on Googles home page when someone searches for that product and it appearing on your page which is optimized for that product as well.
Like I said, ensure to write an article which doesn't give visitors an incentive to click on the ad. and you'll be fine.

Re: Would this get me banned - google adsense
Thank you for all the excellent feedback guys, I am now going to write a short review on two image based ads which appear on my website and two products which are high quality and do not appear on my website.
I think I will also create a section on my website called "Top 10 products" then I will become an amazon affiliate and link the top 10 products in there, does that also sound like a good idea to monetize even further whilst delivering target products for my audience that they will enjoy.

You can never know if and when that ad will appear on your page. So if you have an article for said product, and Google delivers an ad for that product, they shouldn't mind.
I doubt that you will get 100% click through for the ad, but it may help drive some clicks none the less. I would think you have a good idea.

Re: Would this get me banned - google adsense
Find out what your commission will be through Amazon first from products you sell. You may find it more beneficial financially to only have Adsense showing unless you can get an affiliate link directly from the manufacturer. Amazons affiliate commissions are pretty dismal on low cost products unless you can pump the sales through.

Ah you're absolutely right, the niche I am targeting the CPC is around $4-6 (cost for the advertiser in the bidding war according to google adwords)
Meaning each amazon product would have to pay an average of $2 per sale for it to be worth it but I doubt that you even get that with most of them. I do believe it's as low as 5% commission on amazon.
Thanks for reminding me!
