I had applied for Adsense with a 2 year old site of mine and got a response:
"Thank you for your interest in Google AdSense. After reviewing your application, our specialists have found that it does not meet our program criteria. Therefore, we are unable to accept you into our program. We have certain policies in place that we believe will help ensure the effectiveness of Google ads for our publishers as well as for our advertisers. We review all publishers, and we reserve the right to decline any application. As we grow, we may find that we are able to expand our program to more web publishers with a wider variety of web content. Please note that we may not be able to respond to inquiries regarding the specific reasons for our decision. Thank you for your understanding."
An experienced friend told me that this kind of disapproval usually means that Google is not interested in doing business with me. It doesn't necessarily have anything to do with my web site. I believe Google won't give any specific reasons.
Now that I have been rendered obsolete due to the blunt rejection of my application with such words which someone 'uncoded' for me, it makes sense for me to delete my useless Adsense account. Once I have done that, at least my wife can apply for an account in case there is a one address one account rule.
I did some retrospection and I vaguely remember how I had uploaded some videos to YouTube some time back with some affiliate links - could be a reason, too bad for me(and careless of me)
Will also request my Broadband service provider to change my IP so that my wife has a clean start. I don't mind deleting all my Google related accounts(like Gmail) to ensure that there are no problems. I can always use Yahoo or Hotmail for email.
What's your advice - anything else I must do to leave traces that I lived in a Google world?
