I'll say it again: I think the OPis full of fail and bs. I have friends who work the celeb niches and know the traffic and what it takes to make DECENT coin... the OP hasn't shared anything of real value...value meaning if there WAS a REAL site making $XX,XXX in the vert he purports, he could share how to ramp up to those traffic numbers, but you see, he has not, and here is one major reason- it's BS.
Perez Hilton and other MEGA celeb sites such as TMZ et al are in those alexa ranges...and most celeb traffic is pure shite. They DON'T click ads. They are there to surf / browse and then LEAVE.
OTHER verts are click happy..those seeking information on finance, insurance, tech reviews et al. Celeb is NOT a click happy vertical and often will have huge traffic #'s but HORRIBLE adsense #'s.

So, for all you newbs that drank the punch, enjoy. For those with a little more experience, have a good laugh.

i must say first time when i readed this thread few months back, i started right away, and there was a profit of course, earned like 60$ on adsense. Then i got another method and so far am today at 700$ that,s scale it up/down depend on a day, and how hard i work. But on the end it's pretty good.

Niche does matter because you just can't expect some niche like yours to have that much of traffic until it doesn't matter on that 'niche'.

My advice to your ad placement:
Crappy content = place ads at top.
Useful content = place ads at the end of content.

I think that even if your content is useful and interesting, putting ads at the top is still better.

• Mostly because the price for CPA is a lot better and if you do it right the ROI (Return on Investment) is higher.

I've reached 1,000 unique visitors a day on a site with 500++ pages. It's a two years old site, PR2 - and I haven't touched it for the last year at all (no new content, no links building, it just lingered there).

I'm currently re-designing the site and plan a major work on both ends (content and links building) thus the question: is this a good starting point to start with AdSense?
