No you wont risk your adsense account..

Everything in moderation is always good - never go into any extremes. One big banner somewhere below the header or 2 - 4 125x125 ones should be enough.
As with Adsense - you know the rule:
"Up to three ad units may be displayed on each page. A maximum of two Google AdSense for search boxes may be placed on a page. Up to three link units may also be placed on each page".

Just be sure and put in REAL content on your site as well, placing the ads content around it, as you should always do anyway. Do that and you'll be fine. It is 100% ad pages they the SE frown on when they find them. Especially adwords and cpa admin. They tend not to like ad stuffed pages at ALL, that fail to contain content as well.

Keep it simple and you'll do fine.
