Question... very new to this but I had a question I wanted to bounce off you guys.

Is a full site absolutely necessary for adsense? As in couldnt I just start a faux-article directory type website and just submit new seo-optimized articles to it every day along with other seo traffic building? Does it really need to be a specific niche? I guess it would almost be like a mini version of Associated Content only with my adsense ads on each article. If I made sure to be picky with my keywords and build plenty of links then these articles should be able to reach a few #1 spots right?

I assume there's a hole in my plan somewhere? This seems way easier than building blogs or sites for each niche.

How many times have I ever seen Associated Content in the top 5 when i was searching for something?

I almost never see them come up.

I do... and every once in awhile on one of my articles.

there is nothing wrong in doing this type of thing.But remember that you might need a lot of posts there to touch the 10k per month mark with adsense.Whereas a well chosen niche can get you 10 k per month through affiliate sales and the ranking will also be quicker [the niche selection is most important here].I have seen lot of sites making 10k per month and they are not making money with adsense

one site that had adsense in it made just about 700 per month - but when the web master changed the monetization model to affiliate sales,the income became 10k per month.I have seen such a case somewhere.Go on with this article directory site;if you are not good at doing link building,building niche site will be tough.Once you make money through the adsense site,you can start a niche site and outsource the link building.

thats because most AC authors suck and dont know how to use keywords properly.
