Default This Sucks! :(

I was making a cool $200-400 a day outta 6 niche adsense sites which were highly targeted and optimized - that is until one fine day (yesterday) Google decides to remove my sites from search engine results altogether .. and the worst part is that they took all my sites out of the results in a matter of 2 days!
(The sites were filled with unique human readable content and were absolutely white hat!).

I'm just glad that this wasn't my only revenue stream and was thinking about those who just depend on Adsense for their earnings and search engines for their traffic. It is such a huge risk to put all your eggs in one whimsical basket! Clichéd, but very true.

I still get traffic from yahoo and msn but that's hardly anything compared to what came from google.

But I don't really mind telling in general about the niche .. It's mostly in the education segment. Break that segment down into different categories and you've got yourself a goldmine.

I won't specify the exact niche that these sites belonged to, but I'll assure you that most categories within the education segment have huge traffic. Just pick up any one out of that and you could build a 15-20 page site that will fetch in anywhere from $10-200 or more per day depending on the keyword research and optimization that you do.

ohh Boomer, that's rough.

Any idea why you got de-indexed? Perhaps it's only temporary and Goog is shuffling.

I hope you get re-indexed ... like a phoenix rising from the ashes.

Best of luck to you,
Sine

I have no clue why these got de-indexed. I've been trying to ask them but all I get is robot replies! I also hope that it's only temporary and some sorta reshuffling (though I've never heard of something like this before - reshuffling I mean).

Nevertheless, I'm taking this opportunity to further optimize my sites to get more traffic from yahoo and msn .. Who knows, it might be some sorta blessing in disguise .. lol

Google doesn't like MFA (Made For Adsense) sites.

Try to use instead comment-enabled blogs or forums with controversial subjects on your niche topics and have your visitors keeping your content updated.

Eventually somebody copied your content and your sites became delisted for duplicate content... You can check this easily if you make a Google search for some of your 'believed-to-be-unique' sentences, and see if any other site appears with your content.

Holy crap! You are right!

I had original articles (I'd written them myself) put up on the sites. Also these weren't MFAs though they did have Adsense placed such that the CTR was phenomenal.

Thanks for pointing this put ...

artswerdstone,

I am still getting my feet wet, but that was one hell of a good tip for what to look out for and add some periodic searches to normal maintenance routines.

...boomboomer,

Ouch!

After you've finished smarting, don't get mad, get even...as the saying goes.

I am relatively new to Internet marketing (10 years-ish) but a marketing consultant in other areas with experience in retail, service industries, real estate etc.

I have personally launched new products at trade shows, owned high street stores, have been responsible for the branding of products, the inventor of slogans, almost 20 years experience in graphic design and thought I knew all the tricks but Internet marketing is the most cut-throat, dirty-tricks way to make a living I have ever encountered.

For this reason, I am totally hooked and love it!

I feel your pain but know you will grow from this experience and become stronger for it.

I don't know you and I mean this with absoulte respect: "This could have been the best thing to happen to you".

Fighting back is not an option. IT IS A MUST!

the magician

You can set up Google Alerts to watch what happen with your key phrases.

That's funny you mentioned about people stealing your unique content. I have a site that I created all unique content for. It's a niche site and it makes money. One day someone asked a question related to the niche on a forum I owned and they copy and pasted my unique article right into the forum I owned. What are the odds that someone steals your content and posts it on your own site? I guess because my niche site is number one on all the search engines for that specific niche. I thought it was funny and just told the guy to try to make his posts more original.
