I wanted to set up an account today at Siteground. With Anon credit card. In the end I should verify by Camera chat. Can this be avoided?

Why an anonymous credit card? If you are doing something you shouldn't be doing you might want to check out there toss. Or if you can do Bitcoin if another hosting provider I'd do that instead

Yes with us there are credit cards up to 100 € at the gas station. It is not necessary to verify. I wanted to pay my hosting at Siteground

Use someone reputable, that won't ask for ID but honestly, its very shady using a anonymous card...

As a web host provider I personally that host have every right to verify the clients.
If the client is legit then he must not have any problem to verify himself..
Because the card maybe stolen from someone else so without verification the owner of the card may take legal action/chargeback which is painful and also bad for reputation of the host..
Check the TOS of host's before you buy.. Or just use your own cards and verify.. It's simple..
And if it's for illegal purpose then you should go with a host who accept Bitcoin.. and pay them by bitcoin..

Siteground is reputable hosting provider, and any reputable hosting provider have the full right to ask for additional ID verification .
If you want to stay "anon" ok! Buy bitcoin and get a host with bitcoin.
And if you are fraud of course you will be recorded .
Remember that if you can't trust the hosting company who will host your tinny project then who you will ?

I've been using siteground for years, great company. Strange they would get you to do a video chat though lol

It''s becoming regular for that! If you are doing something wrong, then you shouldn't be expecting it. If the project is that secret, you shouldn't be even near a host as big as them.
Credit card isn't anonymous. Choose or use Hosting provider that accepts PSC (PaySafeCard) or Bitcoin method blazingfast.io accepts paysafecards.
Alexhost.com, abelohost.com, webcare360.com and hostkey they accept Bitcoin and they're on safe countries.
