@IAlwaysWin is absolutely right, of course. First and foremost, a healthy diet and regular exercise have always been the most beneficial to me. Other "must-haves" I'd add is to get enough sleep (but not too much) and to have a consistent sleep schedule.
When I have all these things under control, I feel incredible both physically and mentally, ready to take on the world.
I have ADD and have been on Adderall for a few years now. I don't necessarily take it for IM as this is the only kind of stable employment I've ever been able to maintain, mostly because a main part of what I do is creating and maintaining websites which I legitimately enjoy so it's easy to stay focused. The sad thing is I'm one of those weird people that doesn't really mind having a J.O.B. but hey... The last one I held was great, I loved my job and the people there but even then I did not last more than 3 years. Honestly, I don't know how I even managed that because by the end of my first year I had sort of "mastered"every aspect of my role which caused me to become restless, unreliable and a genuine pain in the ass. I will say this, however, my medication benefits my IM work tremendously. I have better ideas and I either run into less glitches/obstacles or maybe it's the same amount but I'm just better at working around them and getting more done. It also helps me stay driven.
Can I ask if anyone has a recommendation for a non Rx alternative to Adderall? After so many years, I have to take a week off from it here and there to make sure it keeps working. Those days are HARD. Currently, I take something I found on Amazon and it was great at first but I'm kind of over it. Although it is a pretty effective product for what it is (non-Rx) and I still order it so I wouldn't not recommend it. It's called "GENIUS CAFFEINE – Extended Release" and there's quite a few sellers offering it so sometimes it's listed for less than $10.00 or 2 for 1 (same exact product, the difference in price is due to them competing for your business).
This is what the container looks like in case anyone's interested....
