I got a sale of counterfeit email warning

Currently i sold couple of brands products. But some of my customers not like it even though i added statement on my website that item is refurbished..

So then he threatened to lodge a complaint to company

Then i got an email

"We needs your cooperation in order to try to prevent the further distribution of counterfeit goods in the United States . If you do not cooperate, we will consider pursuing legal action. Please contact me as soon as possible with your assurances that you will stop selling counterfeit goods, and with any and all information that you have regarding these products.

I look forward to hearing from you as soon as possible, but in any event in no more than three days from the date of this message."

Were you selling fakes ??? If you did then you have to quickly stop doing it, refund money and detroy it (in UK even advertising fakes is a criminal act, so I guess it would be similar in USA)

Should i reply the email or ignore it?

Did you sold fake ?
If you did the I would seek a legal advice in your position as the buyer can make you a lot of trouble.

You sold them as refurbished but they are Chinese fakes?

I added on my website that some items are refurbished and some of the items serial cannot be activated.. How do i really add the items are fakes.. LOL

Anyway that email starts with "We needS your confirmation" so either it written by Ali G or by a competitor who wants to sell the same fakes.

No, it's real email because there a domain extension back of the person name like [email protected] something like this

From 20 sales i got 4 refund and 1 shit customer. this 1 customer reported to brand product owner although i had refund him.. So guys this is full message i got

(3) provide us with all available information regarding the shipment of these products to you from your supplier - what carrier was used, tracking number, if any, how many products were shipped in the package, the address from which the products were shipped, copies of any documents accompanying the shipment (particularly customs declaration documents)

Well it is a serious offense and you were providing false information to your clients including charge of importing fakes with intend for sell with withholding that information.

You can't plays stupid if you've imported them.


Selling that kind a goods is always a gamble, it is illegal and sooner or later the law enforcment or brand owner will knock to you doors.

I live outside USA.. Should i getting worried for FBI?

I have taken down the products.. But i'm curious this is how ebay got warning email before they removed my listing and suspended my accounts when i used to sell fakes on ebay years ago.
