Anything you want needs to be approached in a fluidly focused and easy manner, while attempts to get it should be in a wisely focused, and in a definite and easy manner.
When you WANT something badly, you tend to become rigidly focused on achieving it, and your yearning for the thing becomes an obsession/obstacle.... it has been observed in most cases that while you hold rigidly onto any image, and not let it go out and come back materialized, your goal doesn't come into being (in reality). It stays held up in your mind, and that intense thought also hampers the functioning of your other activities. Mind's activities and normal performances do not go well with rigidity... For achieving very special goals,, it needs to be more agile and fluid, and then it can perform optimally to get things done, or try and get things done. Various factors are attributed for the materialization, but the perfectly working mind is one of the most required parameter, if not The Top parameter.
Successful people always release their ideas/plans to go out in a proper, logical, and well-directed manner, and then they focus on the next important thing to do, and so on. That takes their mind away from the first desired action in a controlled manner and atmosphere...
Of course they may appoint someone to keep tabs on how the action is performing in the outside world, or they may come back to that activity and take reviews to see whether it is going on in the right way or not, and then they fine tune that action further, if needed. That way, everything they do is in a relaxed way, ideal for the mind to perform its various jobs smoothly / "fluidly".
In short: Be a person who controls his (inner and outer) surroundings in a relaxed manner. By rigidly holding onto the ball and not release it to another player or to get into a more favorable position), you will be overcome by the opponent defenders easily, or you might overwork yourself / your mind, and you or your mind will not be able to plan anything else other than the need to hold onto the ball forever.
Try this experiment (but don't over do it for obvious reasons): Hold your breath (completely in an exhale state, or completely in an inhaled state for more moments than you can). You will soon feel the pain of over-holding it, and that pain will also obstruct all other activities that you needed to do otherwise. The state of breathlessness will not achieve anything (else) for you, unless you leave that activity of being rigid (being breathless), and let the air move freely in your body once again.... Same principle applies to the mind also. The mind needs to be free too (be fluid) to act in a perfect way. The thoughts/ideas/goals also need to be released with power/force to make them work for you. The ideas are like the air you breathe in and out.... Like you can't try to rigidly hold onto the air and expect that to be useful to you, the same is the case of your ideas, thoughts, goals...
And there is power (a kind of intelligence) attached to the breaths you take in and out. Ideas too have associated power/s attached to it. How knowledgeably you use both (breath and ideas) will make a huge difference to the way you live your life imo. The more easily (not rigidly) this knowledge comes into play in your life, the more benefits you'll get out of the activity.
