AdWords Is Spending More Than My Set Budget... What's That All About?

I'm a total newb when it comes to Adwords. I just set up my first Video Ad with a budget of $10 per day. It's only been running for 1 day and Google has already spent $21.65.

Does anybody have any idea why this is happening?

Google says that, you may either spend more or less of your daily budget, but you will never cross your monthly budget, so let's suppose if you have a budget of 10$ a day, you will never cross 300$ in 30 days..

Adwords is still very profitable traffic source...

A few cents above the daily budget is normal however a more than double spend is definitely not OK. Do check your campaign settings again and contact adwords support if required.

As stated above, AdWords will not spend more than your daily budget across 30 days. Beware though, that if you change your daily budget within 30 days then the "not spend" part is void.
