Newbie here

I came across this site while researching setting up a new e-commerce store. Though I work in Tech I know nothing about SEO, Affiliate marketing and other components of setting up a store and the thought of hiring an SEO expert scared me because I knew little to nothing. How to qualify them? But looking at the thousands of posts here I am sure I will gain a lot of knowledge. I will read a ton of posts and search but only hope I don't make myself tiresome by asking a lot of N00b questions. Thanks
