How to really
get free images from Google:
Use Google's images and click on the Options box (has a wheel type icon on it) and select Advanced Search option. At the bottom of the screen there, in the "Usage Rights:" select:
"free to use, share or modify, even commercially"
Click on the OK box which has Advanced Search written on it at the bottom of that page.
Then in the Google images page, put your search string, for example: hamburger. You'll find all the images that can be used with above Usage Rights.
Right click on an image and open it in a new tab.
There, click the "Visit Page" button.
Read everything that's on that page! Find out if you should use that image with any attribution. Follow the instructions carefully, and you can use the image as per instructions. I normally don't enlarge any of such downloaded image because it may not be allowed. There is no case to worry because normally such an image (without enlargement) looks great on almost any blog.
Take care, if there are identifiable human faces in the image, you may still get into trouble imo. I am not very sure on this aspect though. I personally don't use such images that has identifiable faces in it.
Request:
Other knowledgeable BHW members are requested to put more light (warnings, illegality, etc) on such usage please.
HTH
Thanks!
P.S.:
When on Google images page, always check that this line "labeled for commercial reuse with notification" is visible at the top of that page (around 2nd line below the search box), before selecting an image.
There are other usage rights that you may use and it may get you more images to select from.
I need the images that I can modify as well as use it commercially, hence I use the above usage rights option.
Thanks!
