Content Locker Question

I'm still new at this and I don't really have a working blog/site set up for CPA yet. But, I am signed up with 2 CPA networks right now and am hoping to get the ball rolling within the next few weeks.. just trying to research a ton on how all this works.

I get the idea of content lockers but my question is this:

What's the point in signing up with a CPA networks AND also getting something like ActionLocker or CLPro or others? I went to the actionlocker site and it seems to do exactly what the CPA network does? The CPA networks (atleast the ones I'm in) let you create widgets.. lock.. and others.

So can someone tell me what the benefit is on other programs on top of the one you already have that does the same thing? Or am I missing something?

well with clp you can use nonincent offers

A lot of the CPA networks only let you use incentive offers (lower payout) with their content lockers, so these third party lockers let you use any offer you want.

Some CPA networks don't offer content lockers at all, so that's another reason you would use a third party.

However, it should be noted that the CPA must support tracking pixels for accurate conversion tracking. And it could be against your CPA's TOS to use non-incentive offers in a content locker...but they don't call this BHW for nothing.

And, by hosting your own content locker, you can run offers from multiple networks, not just the one you got the locker from.

I guess I kind of understand a little better.. now this is another silly question but what would be considered a non incentive offer? Like having no content behind the locker? I don't think any CPA's would allow that.. I guess some of them have a scrambler or something?

Also, how would you use any offer you want in the 3rd party ones? You log into your CPA network via the 3rd party program? and it lists ALL the offers on that CPA network?

In CPA, incentive means getting a user to fill out an offer in return for a reward. In content locking, this could be getting them to fill out an offer to view a video.

Most CPA networks identify whether or not an offer is allowed for incentives. Some list different marketing types, with "Incentive" and either a checkmark or X next to it. Others have two versions of an offer, one labeled as non-incentive, the other as incentive. The non-incentive will always have a higher payout because incentive leads are usually low quality due to the fact that the sole reason the user is filling out the offer is to get to the "reward."

It's best to ask your AM about incentive offers if you don't know how to identify them, if you plan on going with incentive-only offers.

When locking your offer, you only need the tracking link provided by your CPA. Most of the standard lockers just list the offers in the form of hyperlinks, so you only need to provide the tracking links. As far as tracking pixels go, your CPA should have an option for global or offer-specific tracking pixels so you can embed the locker pixel in the offers in order to track the conversions. You may need to ask your AM.

Alright. I've been Googling for awhile now on non-incentive or ''gateway friendly'' CPA networks. Tho I have no clue what gateway friendly means.. anyways, I've been researching and I hear it's best to get CPA networks that offer email and zip code submits and to buy CLpro.

Well, the only network I have found that has email and zip offers is MaxBounty.. so I did some more research and found some threads on this forum about them and there are a ton of unhappy stories about MaxBounty.

I'm kind of scared to even try them out because people have been accusing them of shaving and the account managers have been quitting left and right over there?

Anyone know of any other networks that do email and zip offers that are fairly easy to get into? I'm with *******s and Leadbolt right now and I don't really like any of their offers and they don't seem to have any email/zip offers
