As Chris said, your best bet is to use a .pdf converter or copy/paste the text into Word or similar. As far as rewriting and revising is concerned, I personally auto summarize (a feature available in Word) the article/piece and then run it through WordFlood. Once you have done this, send it back to Word, tweak it a bit more and then convert it back into .pdf once you are satisfied with the results.
