As per Google Maps Cash... it does.
Haven't tried it in real though

Yes reviews significantly impact locals, keyword rich reviews especially.... if you get a bad review with keywords in it, you still get a boost.

It is a old post but I will still answer as I am working on my google reviews right now. My husband says that as soon as he got some google reviews from his clients, his website visitors increased, so yep, i think it works.
