As to your disheartened feelings:
You have to see and accept that to reach the summits you are going to have to tread and possibly fall (disappointments) plenty on working out a way up there for the first time.
What will seem like the achievement, getting to the top, isn't really.
It's the fact that once you know a way up there, you have a proven working route to use from here onwards.
