I have a few things on a shopping list in which i'm going to buy via my amazon aff account.

How do they track it? Is it by IP address from when the account was created or my address?

Would I have to use a different account?

They will be able to identify you own orders and you will not get a commission. The account you are going to use should be on a different name and preferably different address.
