and then I hear some lawyer beat it in court and didn't have to pay taxes... also some famous black guy in usa is charged with tax fraud but he refused to pay because no law requires it...anyone know about this?? |
OK, here's what a tax lawyer friend told me about income tax being voluntary: "Of course income tax is not voluntary. However, if you can convince a jury that you really truly BELIEVE that it is voluntary, then you won't be sent to jail for tax fraud, you'll just have to pay the back taxes and penalties and legal fees."
