Hi Folks,
I want to point the attention to people who really have deep knowledge on SEO regarding a very interesting fact I see over and over again. I am constantly finding web pages which have better link popularity in MSN than in Yahoo and others or vice-versa. For example one of the web pages I saw yesterday had the following link popularity for http://www.domain.com and domain.com:

Total Google Yahoo Live AllTheWeb AltaVista
11200507 72 140 11200000 148 147
11221876 72 7454 11200000 7180 7170

That is over 11 MILLION LINKS in Live!

Two questions raised.

1. How is it possible the number of backlinks for domain.com and http://www.domain.com to be exactly the same in Live.com?

2. Why the backlinks crawled by Live are not visible/available in the other search engines? Please, note that I saw a lot of cases in which some domains get greater backlinks in Yahoo than in Alltheweb or MSN and others.

Let me know what do you think.

Greetings

Thats SEO 101 stuff... the urls get canonicalized during the SE index process.

I wouldn't worry about it, there is no competitive advantage/ exploit to be found.

I was thinking also that it doesn't provide competitive advantage until yesterday but I don't think so anymore. I researched further and it was very well positioned on Google for some competitive kws. I am sure they don't use blackhat cause they are reputable company.

What is this SEO 101 stuff all about?

Come on guys so many marketers here and no one can explain how one single website has over 11 million links in msn. I am asking all the gurus here to take a look at this thread. Thanks in advance!
