I'd like help on the legal side if I can, I'm not a Lawyer but one of my authors is on a blog I work with. Does it state anywhere in Domains by Proxy terms that they will release without a Court order? Because under law that is what should have been required. Its not for them to play Judge, even if there was proof it would have to be presented to the Courts first.
Here's what comes from their site:

Domains by Proxy 's Privacy Policy prohibits the release of customer or account information without express permission from the customer, except when required by law, to conform to the edicts of the law, or to comply with legal process properly served on Domains by Proxy or one of its affiliates.

Did you register your domain via a registrar like Godaddy? You can make a formal complaint against both them and or DBP for releasing your information without a Subpoana. Don't put up with that S**t, stand up to it. Edicts of the law is something that they aren't legally empowered to stand judge upon.
