Is there a way to download YouTube short without added song?

As per title. I need to download videos (youtube shorts) WITH sound but WITHOUT a song that is added in the background. Is there a way to do that?

I’ve run into that issue too usually, if the song is added through YouTube’s music library, it’s tricky to remove. You might try downloading the short first, then use an audio editor to isolate or mute the background track, but it’s not always perfect.
 
No, you can’t remove added songs from Shorts the music is merged. Only use originals or ask the creator for the raw video.

If its your video, export before adding the song or use editing software to remove it.
Always stay within copyright rules.

Maybe AI can help? I gave Saveto AI’s AI Voice Cleaner a try, and it can easily separate vocals, music, and even background noise. Honestly, the results are pretty impressive.

You can't directly download videos from YouTube with the background music already removed. The correct way is to download the video with the audio intact, then use AI tools like Moises.ai or LALAL.AI to extract the audio, keeping only the speech and removing the background music. In short, you have to perform two steps: download the video and then extract the audio using AI; there's no way to do it directly in one step.

Short answer — not really. If a YouTube Short already has music added, it’s baked into the final audio track, so you can’t just download it “without the song.” Your only options are workarounds: either find the original video before music was added, or try using AI tools that attempt to separate vocals from music — but results are hit or miss and usually not clean.
So yeah, there’s no simple way to perfectly remove the background song after the fact.
 
I tried Saveto AI's AI Voice Cleaner software and it can easily separate vocals and background music. Give it a try, it might be helpful for you.
