There are a few ways. If it's not a good anon proxy it will pass their real IP address through in the headers. Otherwise you can check it against known proxy lists. Other than port scanning them (which I strongly recommend against) there really aren't any other ways of finding out easily. You could try a Java or ActiveX applet but they'll get an alert about it.
