Default Having Trouble Getting Accepted Into Affiliate Networks?

After reading some requests for information on smitty's What Do You Really Want To Learn About Making Money? thread, I decided to dedicate a thread to techniques to get approved for affiliate networks. smitty's method involving starting an actual business is definitely the right way to go about getting accepted. However, if you aren't in the position to create an actual business, your next best bet is to create a company website for yourself and operate like it is a real business. Submit it as your URL. When an affiliate manager calls you to verify your phone number explain to them that this is your business' website and while it will not be generating traffic for CPA itself, that your clients will be generating traffic.

A month or so ago one of my affiliate managers that I talk to regularly told me about one of the best reasons for wanting membership he'd ever heard. He said that a co-worker of his was talking to a guy with a decent looking company website. The guy told him that he essentially worked for free, but that the way he generated income was by placing CPA offers on the sites of his clients and occasionally running promotional incentivized offers with his clients. My AM told me that the guy was approved immediately and that his account was opened up to a large number of offers that most new members are not given access to.

While I can definitely see the wrong person trying this and not getting approved, it sounds like a pretty damn good method to getting accepted.

What other techniques do you guys use to get accepted?
