Audio and video calling is the next move in Elon Musk’s plan to turn X into a “one-stop shop” “all in one,” the ever-evolving social media owner wrote in a message that some users have an “early version” of the feature.

At the moment, audio and video calling is only available for iOS users. It is available for both people in your address book (if it is linked to your X account) and the people you are following.

There is also a toggle that only verified users (the ones who pay $8 a month) can call you. Some users, including those with the important blue tick, reported that they had not received this feature, even after receiving an update.

This suggests that this feature is still in the A/B testing stage. There's no button to make the call, so technically the function isn't working. X is just laying the ground work.

What do you think?

No one will use Twitter to make phone or video calls, i don't think this is going to work.

I completely agree with you.
People hardly keep their close friends on Twitter unlike Facebook and WhatsApp.

That is a feature no one will use, twitter is and will always be a place to write whatever they want is just adding more things to move people from other social media and have almost the same options as in facebook or instagram but I don't see any real purpose since twitter always being a place to only express give a quick notification to everyone, sorry Elon Sepai I do not agree with that thing now.

I think this is cool, since the hype and popularity went up after the changes.

I haven't had a chance to explore the feature. Twitter has always been known for its uniqueness in concise tweeting rather than bombarding users with multiple features, trying to get a one-fits-all platform.

welcome to TwitterX-Skype

Of course people will use it. And there is every chance it will catch on. It all depends on how he markets it.

It was tested in NZ, but of course it wasn't per tweet or per retweet - it's an annual $1.
Yeah. This is an annual fee but still it is ridiculous. But as it is Elon, there must be a great reason for this. Let's see.

His reasoning is that the $1 payment uses a unique credit card / payment source, meaning people using bots won't be able to mass create them. And if they do, the amount to create them will quickly add up and be expensive.

This seems legitimate. Elon it is.
