1.7K followers on Instagram and reel views are bad. I average 200-450 views per video. Seems too low that I can not grow the views per video.

Can't comment too much on it cause i don't know exactly what you're doing and how you're doing it, but the views you get don't depend just on followers. The tags you use, your niche, your engagement, the quality of content, etc. All of those matter. But 450 is ok. Not everyone is going to see your content, being photos, reels or stories.

You need to be consistent on posting, followers are nothing without consistency! Besides, where are the followers from, are they real? how old is the account! ?

The influencers with a bit reach (5-10k real followers) are all creating reel only accounts. The old target audience (pictures only) isn't the same as the reel audience. It seems.

Just keep posting high quality, valuable content regularly and most likely your views will increase and once in a while your reel will go viral.

My 2 cents:

  • Keep post times consistent (once you figure out your best times)
  • Stick to your niche
  • If your content isnt working, change it
  • Look at other people doing good in your niche for ideas
  • Original content
  • Make the first 5 seconds interesting or change scene 5 seconds in
  • Engage with people that comment
  • and of course, keep trying

Here are some tips for you:

Create engaging content.
Use trending topics
Collaborate with other creators
Post at right time
Engage with your audience

You are good to go.

Account is 1 year old. Followers are real and I'm doing a bit of follow and unfollow.

Well you have a good point. I'm using currently 30 hasthags per post and just today switched to use only 8-10 maybe less of them. But so far I need to add full descriptions on Instagram.

Did you engage with your followers?
Do you post correct stuffs for them?

I think the views are ok. What do you expect? 100% of your followbase to view your reels?
