this open source cms call wordpress is the biggest cms platform with huge community support
tons of plugin to help build a website that does no longer require a lot of technical knowledge
and it help cut a cost by huge margin comparing to making a fully functional website
start from scratch ..

is there any cms that come close to wordpress?

It really depends on what you want from your website and your capabilities as a website builder. There are other platforms that have the drag/drop features a lot better, making them better for newbies. But overall, for a blog, there is nothing better than Wordpress. If you're looking to build an e-commerce website, a forum, or a different website, then sure, there are a lot better CMSs than Wordpress

WordPress have too many functions via plugin and all. there is no better option I think.

Although technology has developed widely recently, there still aren't some great alternatives to WordPress as it still beats its competitors in many different aspects. I agree that WP also has some downsides of its own and that it doesn't work perfectly, but still far better than some other CMS that I have worked with. I could only mention Shopify maybe as a decent option, but it's more suitable for e-commerce and selling some items, for blogs and some other things it wouldn't be such a perfect choice. Maybe things will change in the future, but for now, it's like this.

Yes, Wordpress is the best CMS platform in the world but as you are asking for some other CMs platform then you can go for Wix other than WordPress.

As an universal CMS WordPress is the best one. About 25% of all websites in the Internet run WordPress.

None. When it comes to CMS wordpress is unrivaled and thats a fact

Wordpress is the fastest, easiest to use, most customizable CMS released.

It's widely used & there's a plugin for nearly any feature that you could want a blog/website to have.

Wix (most flexible designs) -

Wix is a popular website builder platform that is a leading alternative to WordPress. Both free and paid plans come with pre-designed templates that users can modify using a drag and drop page builder.

There are a lot of alternatives, but none of them are suitable. Automatic never aimed to compete with WordPress, which leads the CMS industry. It merely wanted to be a blogging platform.

I think Jimdo & Weebly is the best after wordpress

There is no need to deviate from Wordpress. It has everything you need and is very SEO friendly

There's Drupal, Joomla and some other CMSs but WordPress is used by most people as it is very user-friendly and always updated. If you have a question about WordPress you will find help easily, can't say the same about any other CMS.

There are platforms that make it easy to create a website like Wix, Squarespace, Weebly etc. You can also create a free site using Blogger, Google's own platform.

depends on your goals of "closest to wp". do u want to run a big blog. ecom. small business static site. pbn.
there are tons of competitors many of them much faster on your VPS than WP. quick google search will reveal them. "wordpress cms alternatives".
just do not expect a huge library of themes and plugins and support. if you are into technical stuff then it is fun testing and comparing these other smaller CMS tools.
