Are you asking about using these progression systems in live play? Sure you can and what's nicer about live play -- at least in the U.S. is that they cash you in for your own color of chips to keep everything organized and most casinos will allow those chips to be as small as a quarter.
Why is this good?
Because this means you could start your bets with a quarter and as they lose, double to 50 cents (Martingale), and then a buck and so on... Being able to bet a quarter chip as your first bet say on one of the rows or sections of 12 would give you 2 extra levels of betting progression at smaller levels.
This simply means you'd have two extra progressions to get through before being maxed out because these bets are so small.
Of course if you win with a quarter, you only win back 50 cents. So there's your tradeoff.
