Google Maps / Local Rankings Tank as I add PBN links

I would love to hear what some google maps experts think most influences google local & google maps ranking?

Reviews and adding good reviews do not seem to boost rank
Citations do but there are only so many relevant local or appropriate directories for most of my clients / projects

Do anyone have some suggestions on how to truly identify google maps rank factors?

It seems as my organic rank increases from quality pbn's, that my maps rankings drop off,

Does buying navigate to my location, map markers or any of that stuff help boost maps rank?

Post updates and upload pictures constantly. Make sure all details are filled out for the listing.


How much it drop after PBN links? Might be Google dance while it adjusts your ranking

And is it the age of the listing or the age you claim your business started in?
