However, the house does NOT always win with every person. If you're smart and know proper betting strategies, money management, then the house does not always win.
I have too many friends who are pro gamblers making a hell of a living. I have a friend in Vegas who's a doctor making several million a year in winnings and several million a year in comps with just 11 people who play video poker in shifts.
I'm way ahead of the games I've played all these years... The house I lost in my divorce was purchased in totality with craps table winnings.
But you're right... Most people could never do this because they simply do not have the DISCIPLINE to play a system without ever giving in to a hunch. You make your stop losses and you stick to them. As soon as you deviate from a proven system that can win in the short run, you risk profit.
I can take a simple little roulette betting strategy like betting on the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd 12s and in the short run, do quite well as long as I utilize a good stop loss.
Simply by letting the wheel dictate to you what section of 12 to bet next and then doubling the bet after a loss can easily win you a decent amount of money in a lot of short runs.
I know because I've done it many times and I am ahead.
Based on the odds of each section of 12 coming up, you can do quite well as long as you don't keep progressing a bet after a loss. Create a reasonable stop loss of when to STOP progressing the bet and simply start the progression over.
You must divide your overall bankroll into MANY session bankrolls so that your overall bankroll is never at risk to be wiped out. Most people never do this. They go gamble with $100 and when they lose it (and that's also their mindset), they're done.
On the other hand, you also want to set a winning limit for each session i.e., you lose a certain amount -- you quit. You win a certain amount -- you quit.
Without proper discipline, you are correct... The house always wins but don't think for a minute that there are no winning pro gamblers out there in the world making a great living.
There are. LOL.
