Guys how is this possible?
Recently i'm learning to do keyword research and started writing some seo optimized articles by myself and i'm raking well on some keywords...

I have a 3 months old website about deals and coupons,
I'm searching keywords for "deals, best smartphone deals, best smart tv deals, tv deals and stuff - I understand this niche is really competitive, but this much?

The problem is just... is it possible that all the keywords in my niche are saturated ? Even the ones with low traffic(less than 1000) have 30/40+ difficulty

Any suggestion?
Lately i'm starting to do reviews of semi-unknown products and it's going really well there, i have already around 2000 visits - and i put some internal links to my "deals hub page"

TVs and smartphones are difficult niches as you are playing against huge affiliate sites like TheWireCutter etc.

You need to look for low hanging fruit, low volume long tails with buyer intent.

I'm targeting my country so i don't have that big sites....
Just i can't find even low volume long tails anymore - i made 7-8 articles already on what i found

Just i don't understand why so many authority sites are targeting this low volume keywords... it feels unfair

for example one authority site has so many articles:
"best smartphone 2020"
"best smartphone april 2020"
"best smartphone 250€"
"best smartphone under 200€"
"best phone 300€"
"best smartphone deals 2020"
"smartphone deals and discounts"
and many more...

It really spams all the keywords, even the one with low volume... i just gave up:oops:

That is a very difficult keyword op, you focus on wrong things. They focus on them because they can, they are authorities and they have money to spend.

I am not sure when the world been fair anyway.

First of all, don't bump your threads 2 hours after the last post. You will get a warning for that.

And regarding the OP - Welcome to 2020! Where your only option to find low competition keywords is to invent a time machine!

The niche you picked is brutal in any country you can think of. There pretty much aren't any low competition keywords anymore. You can find something here and there, but unless your site has a massive authority, it will always get outranked by bigger sites, even if they do not target the keywords.

In most cases, you need to simply keep on building the backlink profile until you reach high enough authority to start ranking for a pletora of keywords you haven't even thought you are targetting.

That however, takes a lot of time and a lot of money.

Also, pick an overall less competitive niche. The competitiveness of the niche should not be considered by how many fluke keyword difficulty keywords you find in Ahrefs, but its overall competitive "feel" that you will get after digging through a few hundred keywords in the said niche.

Have you use Semrush to find low easy keywords or hire a experienced keywords research guy to find them

I just needed a good method I guess! I found amazing keywords now ... ;)

I stop reading after this.

You´re entering without any authority on a very competitive niche.

Yeap it is!
The problem is just... is it possible that all the keywords in my niche are saturated ?
Nope, you´re just NOT looking hard enough.
Even the ones with low traffic(less than 1000) have 30/40+ difficulty
For a site on a brand new and fresh domain, I would lower my "competition standards" and start to focus on keywords with a lower KD and/or much lower traffic potential. At least until you gain some authority or, increase you linkbuilding budget.

Take into account, there´s a difference between monthly search volume and traffic. These are metrics Ahrefs provides.
Any suggestion?
Heavily focus on building authority first before targeting keywords with a KD of 30+. Don´t bother about the traffic potential, as long as the keyword is being searched 10-50 times a month it´s more than enough. Get your site rank in SERPs, get your authority up and them, start targeting keywords with a higher KD.

As a personal note, if you´re going to target keywords with a KD of around 30-40 make sure you dive deep into the SERP and analyze the "true" competition of those keywords.

Sometimes, a keyword with a KD of 40 will be easier to rank on Google´s first page than a keyword with a KD of 20.

Remember these KD scores are weighted averages and you shouldn´t take them blindly.

@Holzr Has published a couple of amazing guides for this.

Also, check @fasttrak "Ahrefs´ hacks" guides. They´re perfect for this.

I would highly recommend for you to watch this video tutorial (Starting at the 5:54 minute mark) from Nathan Gotch on how to conduct a "10-second keyword difficulty analysis". It´s pretty dope!
Lastly, if this is something you´re struggling with, you can always hire an experienced professional to do this for you. There are a couple of keyword research services here on the forum that are highly recommended by many members.

Those are @Holzr (duh, right) and, @Topiano.

Make sure to check those guys' BST.

I hope this helps,

Cheers!

Home products are now highly saturated by the amazon affiliate sites. Even after the rate cut all the sites still exist and the competition is the same.

I told my brother about keyword research and he found 6 great niches in less than 4 days. You must be doing it wrong.

A tip for a beginner, pick the products after the niche. Don't choose products first. You can find low competition tools and other stuff other than most common once that have a very high competition. look for new innovations. things that people don't know much but the things that could go viral.

Bro it will not help you much to add 2020 in your keyword , everyone do same.the competetion comes with word smartphone... Smartphones exist long time so trying to start now is not worth.
For example when Fortnite was trend people start making YT channels with compilations and stuff if you wanted to start with this now it will be super hard.

Yeah bro the once that you are trying to hit are already harvested by big folks. Think different. look for the things that has low competition.
